I followed this recipe pretty closely using fresh locally roasted and made natural peanut butter and local pure maple syrup. My caramel came out a little on the soft side so next time I will let it cook down a little longer. All in all this is a super delicious treat that is gluten free, vegan and refined sugar free so it’s a keeper for me.

This recipe is a great starter, but I would definitely call it more a cake than a brownie. I added extra lemon zest to both the brownie batter and the glaze, but I think it could benefit from even more. I will make this again with a couple changes including the addition of lemon pulp, extra juice and zest, and a sugar and flour adjustment.
It’s worth trying out for yourself.
